Xeni Gwet’in First Nation –
Nemiah Valley, BC

In August 2024, Wildy Enterprises general contracted the complete refurbishment of a power plant for the Xeni Gwet’in First Nations Band in British Columbia.

This multifaceted project included the installation and commissioning of three 117.5kW diesel-electric generators, along with the replacement of outdated switchgear and all required electrical and mechanical systems.

The work encompassed a wide range of disciplines, including power generation, electrical infrastructure, civil construction, carpentry, and propane and petroleum piping.

Acting as the general contractor, Wildy oversaw all aspects of the project, ensuring on-time delivery and meeting the client’s stringent requirements for efficiency and reliability.

Given the remote location of the Xeni Gwet’in power plant refurbishment, where no accommodations were available for the crew, Wildy Enterprises devised a comprehensive solution to ensure the safety and well-being of all personnel.

We coordinated the setup of temporary on-site housing, including modular sleeping quarters, dining, and sanitation facilities, in line with the project’s logistical challenges.

The team also arranged for necessary support services, such as catering and transportation, while adhering to strict timelines and health & safety standards.

This thoughtful approach to accommodation ensured that our crew was well-equipped to perform at their best, even in the most challenging of environments, while minimizing the disruption to the local community
