The Inception of Wildy Enterprises

2002

NASA announced their intent to study the physical processes that initiated auroras. The five-satellite team was projected to launch in 2007.

2007

Wildy's journey began in 2007 when Cody Wilson graduated from the University of Calgary with a degree in Electrical Engineering and a specialization in Electrical Power Systems. It was the year that the job market started to falter, leading into the 2008 "great recession."

Against others' better advice, Cody took work with an outfitting job in southern Alberta's mountains instead of the traditional summer intern jobs for hopeful engineers.

2008

Without a previous employer to solicit for work post-university, Cody spent the summer months applying for Calgary jobs in the oil and gas sector. The combination of an Engineering degree and a significant amount of wilderness guiding experience was not what most employers were looking for. After many dead ends, Cody finally landed an interview at the University of Calgary for a job with an odd set of requirements.

2011

Cody left the University of Calgary in 2011 to pursue a new role as the CEO of a wilderness tripping organization. This new role grew Cody's skill set beyond the technical engineering realm developing his organizational management and people skills.

2013

After a one-year absence from the Auroral Imaging Group in 2013, they approached Cody to return on a contract basis in the offseason when he was not guiding.

The company Wildy Enterprises was born.

In addition to this design and service work, Wildy began to take on other construction projects in the Calgary area and developed a network of partnerships and trade relationships to support this work. It was also at this time when Dan Reid arrived and began supporting the work of Wildy Enterprises.

2016

After a few years of contracted field and instrument design work along with local construction projects of increasing scope and complexity, an opportunity arose in 2016 to become the O&M contractor for the Canadian Space Agency's Go Canada Geophysical research program.

Wildy Enterprises has been steadily growing from that point onward, focusing on providing resourceful solutions to engineering and infrastructure problems in remote locations.
